NMS Student Council Sponsoring Hannah's Socks Fundrasier
Over this past summer, a Napoleon Middle School 8th grader attended Bowling Green State University’s Camp Millionaire. Camp Millionaire is a one week camp held during the summer for incoming 8th graders. At the camp, students learned about various financial topics such as banking, savings, and financial decision-making. Students also learned how to successfully implement a nonprofit organization into their school. Hannah’s Socks is a nonprofit organization that raises men’s, women’s, and children’s new and unused socks for the less fortunate. Napoleon Middle School now has the chance to participate in such a wonderful organization.
Starting October 10th through October 21st, Napoleon Middle School’s Student Council is sponsoring the Hannah’s Socks Contest. Each homebase will receive a box provided by the student council. Students are encouraged to bring in as many “new” and “unused” socks as possible. The homebase with the greatest number of socks will win a pizza party. Homebases are allowed to join together to participate in this event due to the differences in class sizes; however, no more than 35 students can join together for this event.
Camp Millionaire is also sponsoring a special event for 8th graders only. Every 8th grader and one parent or guardian has the opportunity to attend the Bowling Green State University versus Temple football game on October 22nd free of charge! The students who attend this event will have the opportunity to create a human tunnel directly on the football field for the players to run through during pre-game. It is a very exciting opportunity. Each 8th grade student will receive a flyer from Bowling Green State University’s Camp Millionaire Program from his or her homebase teacher. The flyer contains all of the needed information on how to obtain the free tickets with the dates and times of the event.
If you have any questions about either of these two exciting events, please contact Lindsay Friedman, Student Council Co-advisor, or Sara Snyder, Student Council Co-advisor. The Student Council is very excited to be apart of these two amazing events!
